"It would be a mistake to think that we are out of combat capability," [Adm. Mullen] said.
I love the Admiral's use of understated menace in that comment. Here's the whole article regarding Iran's most recent provocations in the Gulf region:
Fox News Article: Joint Chiefs respond to Iranian aggression
Unfortunately, he then waters it down a bit with the 'we prefer other options for now' disclaimer. But that's cool too, we certainly would prefer the mad mullahs think we're not about to attack them. Especially just before we do.
It's nice that US diplomacy once again has BIG TEETH, when necessary. Thank you President Bush, for that. Now, a statement like the one above by Admiral Mullen must be taken at face value, given full weight of consideration by our enemies. I truly hope they do think long and hard on their present course of nuclear action, Iraqi provocations, and dreams of a global Islamic caliphate.
But I doubt they will. The mullahs can only see their desires, it's the fatal flaw of Islam. Ahmanutjob will soon trot out a defiant, pointless, delaying denial and further provocations will ensue. Anything to delay and position for their imminent nuclear threats, of course.
A tremendous mistake, indeed. The clock is ticking...
Adios MF,
